    Please help !

My ball python somehow managed to wrap a fake plant around him extremely tight. I haven't been home all day so I'm guessing it's been a few hours but his head is swollen and I don't know what to do it doesn't look or feel like anything is broke or anything it just looks like when you cut off cirulation to your own skin. I have a pic but I'm so worried and there's no vets open right now and I don't know what to do, it's pretty much back to normal now It was about 30 mins ago. Thank you so much for helping ! I feel terrible and I have a pic but I don't know how to post it here.

First, take a deep breath and calm down...Were you able to cut the plant off? If so are there any wounds / lacerations where the plant was? Is your snake acting ok, moving normally, flicking his tongue?

Keep an eye on him, remove any other fake plants / decor that he could get stuck in. Depending on when his next feed day is he may not eat. If the plant was wrapped around his head he could be very sore for a few days. If he is a light colored snake watch for bruising/redness in the area - you may or may not be able to see it. If he starts acting strangely (not moving head/body normally, weakness, in ability to coil) these would all be signs of possible spinal injury, and he would need to go to the vet. Also keep an eye on him when he does eat next, he could have a small cut that is not visible until the skin stretches while he eats.

Swelling is a normal response to having something wrapped too tight. Fluid builds up, yada yada. If caught in time it shouldn't cause permanent harm. So keep an eye on him, hopefully you caught it in time.
