Shy BP after rehoming?
Has anyone experienced this? I used to keep my BP in the garage in a 2' x 1.5' tank with a screen lid on the top. She only has 1 hide, no heater (I live in the tropics where the temperature ranges from 80 to 95 ish. Of course, the ambient temperature in the tank is about 82 to 84 at night, and 85 to 91 in the day. Humidity here ranges from 60 to 80), and used aspen as bedding.
Whenever I come home from work (about 8pm), my BP can be seen roaming her tank all through the night even with a small lamp on nearby.
After about 2 months I decided to rehome her to a 3' x 1.5' exo terra tank. But this time, shes placed in my room next to my computer, and used COCO HUSK as bedding instead. (note: my room is air conditioned at night cos its really warm here.) room temperature ranges from 74 to 80, BUT this time I have a overhead red bulb heater placed on the screen lid above her hide. She has other hides in the cooler regions of the tank. In the warm hide, temperature ranges from 88 to 92, and on the cool side, 82 to 85.
Other than the change in substrate and location of the tank, the conditions didn't seem to have changed much right?
On the contrary, what I've noticed is that she now hides in the warm hide all the time, and doesnt leave the hide to roam the tank like how she used to before (back in the garage).
I'm not sure if her behaviour change is due to the bedding, me being beside the tank at night (cos I'll be on my computer), or maybe from the noises that my computer makes. Is this bad husbandry?

Re: Shy BP after rehoming?
I forgot to add: shes been in the new tank for about 3 weeks now, her shed is PERFECT, feeding like her usual self, and isnt jittery or aggressive when I pick her up
Its just that shes become so shy...

Please don't be offended by this but she is probably finally happy in her home. IMO she was probably out roaming all the time because she was stressed and couldn't thermoregulat because she didn't have a heat gradient to move between. Now she has what she needs she's happy to just stay in her hide in the temp that she wants to be in. Happy royals will spend a lot of the time hiding and not roaming about.
Again this is my opinion.
