Backstory first:

I got this little HGW and a big Bumblebee ball python from Loxahatchee Herp hatchery about 2 months ago. The Bumblebee was fine; a little wobbly, but that's what bees do. But the HGW came to me with JUST its head covered in this weird, pretty hard, stuck shed. I soaked her, and managed to get the shed off with the little coaxing. After that, the little girl has been a little wobbly too. I've read so many things about HGWs having the wobble, but conversely, I've read about HGW's being absent wobble. Whatever genes she has, she was definitely sporting a wobble.

Flash forward a few months: wobble was basically gone. I show her to a friend a few days later, and I notice she's looking dehydrated. Not stuck shed dehydrated, but she definitely has that dehydrated look. So I hold her over her water dish and she drinks for quite awhile. I put a humid hide in her tub and wait to see if she looks any better. I check on her over the next few days. She looks normal. She's eating just fine. I stop worrying.

YESTERDAY, I open up her drawer, take her out to look at her, and she's shed! Well, kind of. Everything from about an inch below her head has shed just fine. The weird part is, I wouldn't have even known her head was covered in stuck shed unless I had touched it. It was that same helmet-like stuck shed that was on her when she first came to me. The wobble was also back, so I'm assuming it's just discomfort associated with this weird stuck shed. It looks and feels like... clear nail polish and it WILL NOT come off. I soaked her for a good half hour last night and rubbed her through a towel. Against my better judgement, I tried to peel it off myself, and it's just not interested in being removed.

None of my Bpythons have ever had any trouble with shedding. They all sit around 65% on a normal day and I make sure it's about 80 during shed. Of course she didn't get the same treatment because she showed no signs of shedding; no cloudy eyes or discoloration. I'm just so confused about this stuck shed. I just soaked her again, and now she's sitting at my feet in a damp pillow case. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I've never seen anything like it...
