New ball python owner...just saying hi :)
Hi there. Wanted to introduce myself. I found a ball python that had been sealed in a box dumped at the front door of the vet clinic I work at about a week and a half ago. We decided to take him in and have since fell in LOVE with this baby. I pet sat a friend's corn snakes for a few months about 7 years ago and that is the extent of my snake knowledge. I have been researching like crazy trying to give this guy the best home possible and really just need friends to bounce stupid newbie questions off of til I get this right nice to meet you all and I look forward to picking your brains and annoying you with dumb questions!!

Hello, welcome! This place is awesome. Don't be afraid to ask questions even if you think they are dumb. I have many times lol just in case you haven't read it yet here's the care sheet for ball pythons. It is a must read!

Thank you for the welcome!! This poor baby was almost dead when we found him. I have never had an emotional attachment to a snake but....I can't help myself with this guy. The fact that he trusts me at all after what hes2been through is incredible. He gets a bit hissy sometimes, which I'm hoping he'll grow out of. I am working with a local reptile breeder to get a proper set up for him and I hope once he's comfortable in his world and has had a few feedings (I fed him once already and he ate like a champ!!) he'll settle down. The hissing intimidates me a littke being very inexperienced...

Welcome. . Sounds like he was very lucky that you found him. I Hope he's alright.
As for the hissing I wouldn't worrie about it at all. Once he has the proper set up and is given a good amount of time to settle in and de-stress he will be fine.

Thanks for the welome! He seems to be alright as far as we can tell, he ate really well for last week and getting ready to feed him again tomorrow he's been pretty manageable the last few days and seeming to start to enjoy being held and being out with us. As soon as I can figure out how to post pics I will show some pics of him and his home
