Thermostat for under tank heater
Hey guys whats the best thermostat for the money? Anyone know anything about vivarium electronics ve-100. Good? Bad? Worth the money?

Ve are good products but the 100 model is on/off I would get proportional model. You should get a Spyder robotics herpstat 1. If you have more then 1 heating device or plan on getting another reptile get the herpstat 2. I own the herpstat 6 and I love it. Herpstat is a top of the line thermostat.

VE tstats are good. I second getting a proportional over an on/off style.
I have never had one but I have always seen good things said about them.
I have all SpyderRobotics Herstats. They are top notch but you wont go wrong with a VE either.
The important thing is that you are getting one.

The VE300 will serve you well. That Zoomed 500 sucks. They are very unreliable. The VE will be a nice upgrade for you.

You should check Fuana and the other sites and see if there is a nice one up for sale. I scored some nice tstats that way saved a good amount.

Why pay more for less?
The Helix looks great when built into a rack but other than that it needs a stand. It holds 500watts and is only proportional. The probe cord is only 4ft long.
The VE-300 looks great alone and it stacks. It holds 700watts and does both on/off and proportional. The probe cord is 10ft long.
The only thing that going to beat the VE when looking at price per features are the Herpstats.
