    BAH-1000 thermosat good for rack?

    http://www.bigappleherp.com/BAH-1000-Thermostat

Was looking at buy a vivarium electronics thermostat for my rack the saw the above for half the price. Anyone use this thermostat? IS it better to spend the extra money for the vivarium or a different thermostat?

Bah only makes on/off thermostats. You can use them but bah drops 5 degrees before it kicks on. You want something more consistent. Get either a proportional model herpstat or proportional model vivarium electronics. Trust me I owned the bah for 5 minutes before I put them back in the mail.

If you don't mind on/off thermostat you can make your own cheap. Same as a vivarium ve-100
The single one cost about 20 bucks. The double one coast about 50 but 20 was for the case so I could stack it.
But the one your looking at will work

Are those the same as the st-1000? If so that may be a good option if your trying to save money. At least for the st-1000 you can adjust so it turns on at .5 Celsius below your set temp. Meaning if you set to 32 Celsius which is 89.6 Fahrenheit it would turn on when it drops to 31.5 which is 88.7 Fahrenheit so its only a degree difference which in my opinion is a good on/off thermostat with minimal fluctuation.

I'm curious to know since the inkbird is in Fahrenheit what the least amount of temp drop you can have before it starts heating again. Does it have that option?

Not trying to hijack your thread, I'm curious about it and the information could save you some money. Win/Win for both of us!
