BPs and dogs
Hey everyone I just got my new bp (1.0 pewter bee) and I was wondering how and if you should introduce your bp to your dog. I have a golden retriever that's on the smaller side.

Nope. They never should have to meet. Keep them separated.

As fun as it seems it could end in a major disaster.

No reason to let species mix and a lot of risks to it. My three dogs never interact with my snakes, they aren't even allowed in the reptile room.

Most dogs will instinctively go after a snake, esp terriers. My Pit generally ignores my snakes when I am holding them, but I would never put any reptile on the floor in the same room with a dog or cat. All it takes is one bite from a dog, or pounce from a cat and you have a dead or seriously injured snake.

Or an injured dog/cat. Even with my ball python being 1 year old, I think she would do a number on my cat.

I would strongly advise not to do so because it will just stress out your snake, especially if it's a young one.

Depends on the dog. My border collie loves the snakes and actually loves watching them eat. Was really cute, after she watched feeding day, I came out later to find her sitting on the porch with a dead rat...looking at me like "can we feed this to the snakes?"
I just make it clear that she has to stay a certain distance back and she can watch. She's a smart dog and good with the rules. I never really plan to have them interact, however, as that could be stressful for the snake.

My micro mini pin is terrified of ny yellowbelly het hypo girl. She is not afraid of any other of my snakes. Idk what it is about osirus that scares her so much, but the second i go near Osirus, Dede goes hiding. Lol.
But they dont mingle. Dede will follow me to watch what im doing but they dont mix or match physically. ^^
