I was looking at the sticky for setting up the ap t8 and one of the pics was of the acurite probe held into place by screw. If your using under tank heat source wouldn't you want the probe flipped the other way so the part that reads sensor is down? I use the same exact thermometers and always put them the other way. My theory is that if you put them outside your house you put them the same way like the pic so it takes the temp of air but if you flip it so the word sensor is against let's say your porch then it would be taking the temp of your porch. So if your probe is placed like the pic it would be taking the temp of the bottom of the substrate instead of the bottom of the cage. Does it sense the whole way around the probe or just where the word sensor is? I'm just curious bc the bottom of the substrate could be several degrees cooler then the bottom of the cage correct? There's also the white sticky pad underneath which would give an inaccurate reading unless you completely took it off? Has anyone ever tested both sides? I've never tested it the way in the pic but now I might in the morning to see if it gives me a different temp and if so how much difference.
