Everyone meet Cleo, the super pastel.She arrived just this morning from XYZ Reptiles. She's about 6 months old, weighing 76 grams.

cute snake but 76 grams at 6 months? most hatchlings weigh 70-90 grams was she a bad eater? or just a really small

I'm honestly thinking now that my scale may be off. I'm going to re-weigh her in a few days once she's had time to settle in. I was told she was hatched in October, and fed live medium to large mice, though I plan on switching to f/t

Hatchlings in the 50's aren't unusual. Admittedly, most will exceed 76 at 6 months. I have a male GHI mojave that hatched out at 50 grams and was not an enthusiastic feeder, it took him 9 months to hit a 100 grams. He's 18 months old now and still a shade under 300, but healthy in every way. Still not the best feeder, obviously, but I don't worry about him at all. That's just the way it goes sometimes.

but, to OP, I wouldn't worry about this. if it's an accurate weight, it was likely maintenance fed and/or a light feeder. Get the snake feeding regularly and it'll probably be up to size in no time. And if it's a light feeder, so be it as long as it feeds with some regularity.

My smallest hatchling ever was 65g tho I have seen them under 40 never hatched one out that low that is y i asked if she was small
I had one I bought that didnt eat for 4 months that was a 6month old 90g again y i asked if she was feeding ok
tho I agree if she is eating fine she will put on weight fast enough

Well I did manage to weigh her again, and I got 76 grams again. I'm going to give her a week, then get a live rat fuzzy (unless you guys think I should start with something smaller)

She looks very healthy, the smaller size is most likely due to maintenance feeding by the breeder, once you get her on a more regular schedule you'll be amazing how fast she grows!

The smallest hatchling I ever heard of (that survived) was 30 grams, sooooo cute. It was one of a set of twins and clearly the other twin got most of the eggs space! It was a little albino guy, and after a few months you couldn't even tell he was born so much smaller than the rest of the clutch.

I had a 17 gram hatchling survive. She looks good and healthy. Were mine, I would give her a rat pup around 10-15 grams every 4-7 days.
