    Done!

Now, officially a member of the bio-active substrate club.

Took forever to get around to this project. I wanted the drainage rock layer completely enclosed in a screen bag. (I do this on a much smaller scale with tulle and rubber bands as closures for my MUCH smaller terrariums, and clean-out is just so much easier.) I didn't think tulle would hold for a 36"X18" floor, with a depth of 1 1/2," and had to wait to get a roll of window screen. Then, I sewed the bag. Used 5 one gallon bags of light weight "rock" drainage layer inside that, and 6 one gallon bags of Atlanta Botanical Gardens style "soil" substrate for the top layer.

Potos, Hedera helix, fittonia, mahogany fern, and kangaroo fern (latin?) are all in place. Actually, only the fittonia is growing directly in the substrate, and I'm not sure it is going to hold up. Nevertheless, it is very pretty for now. Starbuck slithered around exploring for a few minutes, and then went back up to his usual perch under the RHP. Not sure HE cares, but I think the new set-up looks great.

(Sorry, no way to take pics.)
