First pic of Punkin
Just got our first pic of Punkin, who is still with her current owners as Michigan weather has been nuts this past week (80 degrees last week, snow this weekend!) She/he had just shed and retained a bit but they got it off with no real troubles. My husband Mike says we need this snake sexed ASAP, as no male snake he owns is getting called "Punkin" LOL (men!...it's not like the other male snakes would make fun of Punkin for his name would they?)

Re: First pic of Punkin
Cute lil bugger.
And lest your husband forget the decidedly unfeminine title creature in "punkinhead" . . . .
(hehe on your sig - we've 3 kid credits of our own and know what you mean)

Re: First pic of Punkin
we are a bit concerned that Punkin seems sorta thin looking in some of the other pics we got...are male BP's sleeker (less girthy) than females of a similar age or is that just my decidedly uneducated eye?...anyways Punkin is going for a vet visit after he/she gets here for general health, weight check and sexing so that should settle our minds a bit (see other thread for my questions about that first vet visit lol)
P.S. do snakes ever "morph" into teenagers with phones glued to their ears and attitudes that would make the bravest man flinch????

LOL. Punkin has a bit of retained shed there and isn't the girthiest fella, but looks good, the key is that the spine isn't prominent. Definitely check for signs of dehydration when you get him/her, but it looks like you're starting out fine.

Re: First pic of Punkin
Yep we noted that retained and I emailed Punkin's current owners right away to double check it wasn't encircling and they were dealing with it. Apparently Punkin never sheds complete but this may be a humidity issue or housing thing as I think Punkin's in a glass/mesh top enclosure and you all say that's hard to keep humidity high enough in. We are going to house in Rubbermaid instead. If you'd like Marla I posted a thread in General under Weight/Length regarding another pic of Punkin that concerned us a bit, I'd appreciate any input there as well.
