Hello all!
My name is Cory and I am 27. I just recently purchased my first pet snake, an 18 inch ball python. I am new to caring for my own snake however I have been around and handled snakes before. Growing up my mother had a common boa constrictor which I handled as well. Some day I am wanting to get a red tail boa(once I have more personalized experience caring for snakes). I came across this forum while researching habitats and this was the only forum with current/active threads so I signed up! Looking forward to learning more through the site and talking with everyone.
Cory.

Welcome to the forum Corey, glad you joined.
Congrats on your BP!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Re: Hello all!
Hi! Happy to have you along with us on the forum. What type of enclosure are you keeping the ball python in.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

Re: Hello all!
Funny that you should ask. Currently my bp is in a 10 gallon glass tank, however after one of the stickys I saw on here(the reason I found the forum) I am looking to switch to a Rubbermaid tub of some sort. I happened to check at Wal-Mart earlier and they have a number of different sizes to choose from. The more I read about using these tubs the more I want to make the switch. But I'm still trying to figure out the best, and safest way to heat the warm side? I've read flex/heat tape, UTH, and human heating pads. But it seems like these would be dangerous/hazardous towards starting a fire of some sort? I know I would need a stat for the flex tape at the very least, maybe even the UTH too? But it would be sitting on a wooden surface so that's why I worry. Any suggestions. (also sorry that this sort of got off topic. Haha)
