Big Cheese Rodents "Adult Mice" Packaging

Does/has anyone purchased ADULT Feeder Mice from Big Cheese Rodents ? I've been buying from them for quite awhile, but this is the first time I've bought "Adult Mice" from them.

In my past experience, regardless of size category, the packaged feeders have all been roughly the same size. But in my new shipment of "Adult Mice," (25 per tray) each packaged tray has 11 mice per side that don't really look any bigger than the "Small Adult" mice I've purchased from them in the past, along with 3 fairly large mice packed between the two rows in the middle.

Just wondering if this what other Big Cheese customers of =Adult size mice= have seen ....,...

    Thanks!

I just got some mice from Big Cheese too. I think the mice in the middle look bigger because they're kind of spread out. While the ones on the sides are kind of squared up against each other. They all weigh about the same. They sort them by weight, if you weigh them they should weigh more than the small mice.

I agree with Willow. They sort by weight and all of the feeders should be within the advertised ranges. I also agree with you scal. It does seem like most of the feeders have been on the lower end of the weight ranges lately and there's not much weight variation. Here's a picture the jumbo mice from last year.

Re: Big Cheese Rodents "Adult Mice" Packaging

I see what your saying ... my un-opened tray looks the same as your describing but I believe what it is, when they are stacked so closely together (the sides) they slightly overlap or are pressed against one another making them appear smaller and the ones in the middle are only competing for space with the tails and feet of the ones on the sides allowing them to flatten out more when the vacuum packaging takes place, hence making the ones in the middle appear larger ..... they package feeders together according to weight rather than appearance in size

Re: Big Cheese Rodents "Adult Mice" Packaging

Thanks for the feedback....one of the concerns I had was that Big Cheese has been "sold out" of Adult mice lately, and I just happened to find them available again on a given day last week, and ordered two trays. I weighed one of them, and figured in about 20 grams for the tray and packing wrap....the resultant "mouse load" came in at around 582 grams, or a little over 23 grams per feeder- which is a little bit on the low side of the advertised range. I guess I'll have to open one up to be sure....

Re: Big Cheese Rodents "Adult Mice" Packaging

I feel your pain .... I prefer big cheese but they have been lacking in the supply and demand department lately! I was forced to order from rodent Pro last month due to big cheese lack of medium rats. I was concerned because I have heard a lot of horror stories about rodent Pro shipping filthy feeders ... I guess I was one of the lucky ones because all of my order showed up clean and fat .... but the packaging was something else (not neat and vacuumed sealed) with two of the bags being ruptured by tails and feet

Re: Big Cheese Rodents "Adult Mice" Packaging

I first ordered from Rodent Pro . Then I switched to Big Cheese because of what people were saying about them here. Big difference! The packaging is so much nicer from Big Cheese and the feeders are cleaner. Many of the feeders from RP had bedding and feces on them or in the bags. The packaging from them is sloppy compared to BC. The pricing is overall similar between the two.

I think if there is any issue with the order, contact the company and discuss it with them.

I love their meat department style packaging. I had a order of mice hoppers vary a bit in size. I just double up on small ones.
