What morphs should I start out with?
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right thread, but my question is what morphs should I start out breeding with? I want something that's going to hold value for a little while. I have about $3,500 give or take, but I'm just not sure what morphs would be good morphs to purchase in 2016. I know that everyone is going to say get what you like, but I assure you that I like all types of creepy crawlies so that is not a problem. So if anyone has any ideas on what morphs I should purchase then I'd very much appreciate a comment. Thanks in advance .

Recessive will hold their value better, if you plan on breeding concentrate in females first and worry about a male in a year and a half down the road as female takes longer, it will also allow you to get more gene for probably the same price you were planning on now.
As to what get what YOU like because whether you spend $100 or $3500 YOU are the one that will feed, clean and care for this or those animals, so you better make sure you like them and that you are still thrilled about opening there enclosure in 1 or 10 years from now.

Obviously, get what you like. If you want to start a collection with the intent to breed, my advice is to look up really cool combos of three or more genes, and then look for a group of three that would make those combos. For example, my plan in the next few months is to buy a female (or male) cinnamon fire and a lesser pastel of the opposite gender, with an eye for an adult female. Both snakes will cost me under 500, and with that combo I have the possibility of sterling balls, fire sterlings, some combos with lesser thrown in and all the one and two gene possibilities. I love sterlings and fire sterlings.
So, pick out a two or three gene male with a cost cap of $2,000. If you want to settle your collection in and start breeding next year, then look for one or two females (three if you can find a good deal) whose cost totals (all together) about $1,500.

Thank you for the replies. Now I have some pondering to do to decide what combos I would like to work with. As far as the picking what I like goes, I like all the morphs because they all have their own unique patterns and color schemes. So cleaning and caring for them a year or even ten years down the road will be no problem what so ever.

Like you and every one else said get what you like but as for ideas
Clown has been around forever and still demands a good price
Pastel while you will need to do some searching to finda nice one. a good one will enhance any breeding program you will have
Puzzle is a cool ressesave and wile they are top dollar you can get hets at a fair price
Everything looks better in mojave
Albino or one of the albino like morphs (candy toffee and the like)will help
Just my 2 cents now im broke again

Start with females, don't even think about males yet. Recessives hold value better. If I had 3500 to spend, that's all I would buy. I'd get a female clown with at least 1 more gene in her, for that budget probably pastel. Then I'd go with a 100% het puzzle female. Finally, I'd get a 100% het tri stripe female. By the time those hets are getting close to breeding size, het males will be even more cheap.

I was actually thinking of purchasing adult females to start with so that I would be ready for this coming breeding season. So from what I've gathered from the comments is that I should buy recessive multi gene females and a recessive multi gene male, correct?

Recessive females with secondary co dom traits wil be your best bet for a financial gain then a super power house male

Desert females don't generally fair well with pregnancy. They become egg bound and most die. Desert ghost is ok. Spiders have a head wobble issue. Some it's not bad and some it's really bad so obviously you wouldnt want to breed one that had a bad wobble. Personally I'd get a good idea what I want then research each gene to see what issues you may have.
