Injurys to the owner caused by their BP (other than your typical lil bite)
So lastnight I was checking on everybody, as I opened my pastel girls tub (it is at eye level) and as I went to peek in on her she came barreling towards the front of the tub and struck out at me coming literally and inch or two from nailing me in the face. If my reflexes were any slower it could have been ugly! I immediately felt that warm shooting pain sensation in my lower back from the awkward evasive procedure that I had to pull out of my bag of tricks that quite honestly I didn't think this old dog still had left and then this morning I woke up to find both of the muscles that run down the left and right side of the neck very sore so evidently I strained something there as well. It was really quite impressed, the speed and magnitude that she displayed moving from the back to the front and out of her 41qt tub. She used to be the most docile and lovable snake in my collection but she has had this totally different demeanor every since she laid her first clutch in January.
So I figured I would share the story and see what kind of experiences and stories others have had of their ball pythons causing injury to them other that your typical bite

Lol good work on the evasive ninja move but sorry to hear you strained some muscles ! I haven't had any injuries as of yet but I have many years ahead of me

does hitting your head on the corner of a cage count? if so, i have 627 assorted bumps, bruises and scratches thanks to the snakes. if not, I'm injury free.

Other than stubbing my toe on the cage....nope. Oh or walking into the ceiling (there is a cage in the dead space under a sloped ceiling and sometimes I'm not paying attention and smack my forehead on the ceiling.
It seems the cages are much more dangerous than the occupants!

I've only had my BPs since 2/20/16 and have already been severely injured by a 160g individual. Just look at this injury on my thigh: lol

My bp pushed a full metal water bottle onto my toe from a shelf which hurt like hell. And when I looked at her she looked like she was laughing it was so funny
Other than that iv hit my head on her viv a few times but nothing serious. No bites yet.

I let my bp crawl around my neck once (yes, it was a stupid thing to do). While my husband was pulling her off she got scared and I had a small bruise on my neck for a couple of days. Other than that I've managed not to hit the cage, but its probably a matter of time...
