    Rat might be too big?

So my bp hasn't eat in a couple weeks, and I went by and asked for a rat pup today and what I got I'm thinking is closer to a weaned rat. My bp is about 185 g and the rat weighed in at 35 g, according to the 10-15% rule this is slightly too big. Looking at the widest part of my snake, the rat seems to be only slightly larger, so I'm wondering if I can still feed it to him without repercussions, or if I should just return it tomorrow and get a smaller one. is it safe to feed it to my bp or should I error on the side of caution?

give it a try, be ready to intervene if the rat is live and is not quickly constricted or constricted and released. the rule is not a rule, it's a guideline.

I feed my 192 g ball python 30 to 35 g rats all the time. Yours shouldnt have an issue, try it. And do be careful if its alive.
