    Slipped Skin Disease

    Hi all,

The following are two link on the other forum I'm on regarding a all to little known disease. You can read the whole first thread if you want to, but it is only here for the very first image of the pythons wounds.

The next is the main thread, and I encourage you to read the PDF in there on a disease that a google search doesn't show anything about at all!

    Cheers,

From the information provided, it appears to happen to compromised snakes, especially malnourished ones. Not something that happens to attack a healthy snake.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Herpo, you did an excellent job in recognizing the symptoms and sharing that information. You've contributed something very helpful to the herp world and made obscure and expensive data accessible to everyone online. Good work

That disease sums up my nightmares. I have actually woken up mostly when I had my corn snake after a nightmare along the lines of this disease.

Edit: Congrats on bringing it to my attention, somehow I doubt I will have a good night for worrying.

While the prognosis for this condition does seem bleak, at least there is always some hope.

Nixon and Dave (a rescue) managed to make it through a case of what was likely SSD
