    Dream about slugs

I had a dream last night that Donuts had somehow gotten eggs, despite the fact that she's lived with me since she was 2 months old with no males lol. I digress.

I was worried about her being too young/small and having eggs, as she's just 8 months old. After I noticed she was huge and doing the lumping thing, and I ran her through my hands and felt the eggs (probably from reading about feeling for follicles?). I put her in a tub with vermiculite and she started laying right away. Because dreams always have such realistic timing lol.

The first thing that came out was a slug. But, like, a literal slug!! A straight up slimy gastropod. Okay... More slugs kept coming and then she was done. 5 slugs if anyone was interested lol.

I was relieved that they were slugs because they were easier for her to pass than eggs would have been, yet concerned because they had come out white instead of normal slug color...?

I'd like to blame a few things for this:

1.) Reading through the breeding section before bed

2.) Harry Potter. If you've watched the movies, you know the scene lol

3.) I've been learning about and interacting with Madagascar hissing cockroaches in my Bio lab and learned that they come out of a shed with their new exoskeleton white. Apparently it hardens up and develops the usual pigment over a few days or so? Anyway, I guess the slugs being white was my brain's way of saying they were vulnerable or not fully formed or something.

I guess I should try to read about nicer things before bed

This is hilarious. I have dreams like this all the time, and they get weird, too.

    I dream:

1.) That I find baby ball pythons ALL over my house
2.) I find ball python eggs EVERYWHERE in my backyard
3.) My BP laid eggs. This latest dream I accidentally froze the eggs and then burnt them though, lol.

I think I'm so excited to have eggs again that I dream about it often, but I hatched a clutch last year where EVERY hatchling was deformed, so most of my dreams about the eggs are sad in some way ):

Just so you know, a lot of insects do this. The discoid roaches and crickets I feed to chameleons occasionally will be white. The roach looks super weird to me since it looks so different.

If you decide to breed your girl down the road Crista, I wish you much better success!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Oh man, I'm so sorry about that clutch! ): Hopefully next time will be better

And yeah, I've had a couple of dreams where I keep finding/ people keep giving me snakes that are just all over the ground outside, and always ridiculous species and morphs that my brain makes up. I have the same kind of dreams about fish, too. I keep somehow ending up with more and more fish of different species and I know their tanks are too full but they just keep coming and I don't know what to do with them!

Neat, thanks for the info! We haven't seen one molt yet so far in the semester so I haven't seen it in person yet.
