In all my years with snakes I've never seen or heard of anything like this. It's feeding day at Chez Dave and Pyrrha is up. She's been on a tear recently. Lots of attitude, striking and hissing at everything. She's just one of those snakes. Sheds well, eats well, husbandry is right. Anyway, she struck and coiled her F/T like normal and then....as I was closing her back up, let go of the prey with her mouth, coiled harder as if to say "it's mine!", and then hissed and struck at me twice! It's a well known fact that you can literally pick up and move BPs when they've got something chomped and coiled. This is a first for me.
