Shed Question -- blue/cloudy eyes
I got my first ball python about a month ago. He's a male pastel coral glow yellow belly that was born 10/12/15 and last shed around Christmas before I got him, so I haven't experienced a shed yet. I thought I could detect a pink belly well over a week ago and then several days ago I thought I noticed a slight blue/gray hue to his eyes. But his eyes still have not turned that unmistakable cloudy blue. Now I'm wondering if he's in shed at all. Maybe his eyes were always just a little blue but I never noticed it before now?
Anyway, my question is will a snake's eyes always turn that opaque cloudy blue before shed or could it be a very slight blue/gray with no distinct cloudiness? Yes, I know, a snake will shed when it's ready, I'm just trying to detect if it is indeed in shed, for curiosity's sake.
Here's a picture of him from a few weeks ago when he was most definitely not in shed.

Thanks!

Mine started off very light blue/hazy for about 3 days, then seemed to clear up for a couple of days, then got VERY blue/hazy for a couple of days, then she shed.

My Enchi girl started with light blue-gray but then went full shed in a few days. Only time will tell if its a shed or not, for now just keep misting that cage and he might shed.

First off, you have a great looking snake! Congrats on that pick up
Sometimes the eyes will be unmistakably blue, and sometimes it can be more subtle. If you don't handle the animal much when you know a shed is coming on, you could miss it. Once you see them with the true blue cloudy eyes, you won't mistake it for anything else.

My boy is in shed now. I noticed the pink belly about a week ago. Now he is blue. Last shed he completely cleared up before actually shedding. Tripped me out. I thought that he had shed and possibly ate the shed. The next day he had fully shed in once nice piece.

Update:
Today he has the unmistakable cloudy blue eyes. I didn't think I'd notice blue in his eyes so early on in the shed.
