    Shedding issues?

So I've had this kingsnake for about a month now, 2 week ago she went into shed and from what I can tell is she hasn't gotten out of it yet. She's been staying in her hide all day and has the smokey look, her eyes are clear. I know that snakes eyes clear before they shed but I've heard of one taking 2 weeks to shed.

All I can say is my own personal experience, since I'm new to snakes - I've only had my Cal. Kings for about a year now. My female has actually gone into blue, come out of it, and not shed at all before - she had a perfect shed the next time she went into blue, and has never had anything but a perfect shed... when she did.

My male has spent over a week in heavy blue before, then didn't shed until over a week after coming out of it. Perfect shed - he's never had any other kind.

I have no explanation... just my own experiences.

    Re: Shedding issues?

Shedding process does take some time so be patient as it should finish out. We're her eyes milky white at any point? If so she might have just popped her caps but the shed is not complete. If you feel she needs assistance give her a shallow warm bath between like 80 and 90 degrees to where the water just covers her body this is what works for my snakes if they have a rough shed. But to truly avoid this make sure the humidity is at what it needs to be in your enclosure as well to better ensure a whole one piece shed. Hope that helps some.

She was milky at one point. This is the first shed since I got her. I've never seen a snake go blue then clear and not shed. She doesn't have any stuck shed. The husbandry is fine
