    Labial pits?

I have noticed some "gunk" in and around the labial pits of my ball python. Also in one nostril. She is having a somewhat bad shed and a lot is retained on her head and eyes, is that what this stuff is? It isnt mucus-y, it is dried. Im wondering if a vet trip is necessary?

Since bad shed can also be a sign of a health problem I'd say it is time for a trip to the vet ASAP. Respiratory disease in snakes is very serious.

Pics would help, but retained skin shouldn't look gunky or be plugging up a nostril.

It doesnt look plugged up as much as it looks just like dried skin somehow got in it. Ill be calling a vet tomorrow though, better safe than sorry
