How long of a rest do u guys give the female before reintroducing the male? I am planing on giving her about a weeks rest, is that too short?

Depends, did you see a lock? Everyone breeds differently but females don't really need to see a male as much as new breeders think they do. If the female and male did lock, I usually wait till next month. So if I saw a lock today (Jan. 19) I wouldn't reintroduce a male until somewhere around Feb. 19. If there was no lock witnessed, I will reintroduce the male on Tuesday two weeks from now. Just as an example.

I usually allow a week between breedings until I see a lock. Once I see a lock I only pair once per shed cycle.
