Can Falling in Cage Hurt?
Hello. Sorry if I post too many questions. My Kayly lives in a 40gal terrarium that's only about 18in tall. She's had plants, hides, and vines she's climbed on top of since I set up her home and she hasn't had an issue falling off of any of these things. We got her a foam insulation backgrounds to help keep temps up and she has a habit of climbing on that and she falls over a lot. I was wondering how dangerous this is as she only really falls maybe 12in at a time. Should I take out the insulation and try yet another trick for temps? Or is she fine?

As long as the snake can not get behind the background you will be fine. Snakes have a way of getting places their owner thought they never could.
As far as the snake falling, its actually been brought up a few times over the years and I do not remember a single reported injury from it. Many new owners worry about it. I have been known to suggest getting the snake a helmet but I am unaware of anybody actually doing it. If you do please post a pic or video.
Your snake will be fine with the little spills in it's tank. You are just like many parents with their first kid....over protective. LOL! By the time you get your second, third, and fourth you will be a veteran keeper and find the hobby much more enjoyable as you will not be stressing as you are now.
Snakes are much more tough than I believe some owners realize. Many new owners just need to relax and let their snake be a snake and know that in doing so they will seem to drive their owners crazy.
Just when you think you know your snake it will change its behavior just to keep you on your toes.

Re: Can Falling in Cage Hurt?
My guy loves to climb his vines and has taken a few plops. His viv is also 18 inches tall, and yes i panicdthe first time. He was fine after i checked him out and put him back in his viv, he went right over and climbed the same vine he just fell out of. So i wouldn't worry yourself sick over the occasional plop. Good luck
