Shed on head--help!

Hello, everyone! I'm a first-time owner, and got Terry (my snake) only three weeks ago. We had some issues with humidity, but they were quickly solved, and everything seemed to be going fine--he accepted mice, was calm, and didn't mind being in contact with us. However, his first shed started only a couple of days after we brought him home, and because he stayed in his hide and did not want to come out during this period, we didn't know anything! We left his humidity at the 50-60% mark, and didn't up it until it was too late and he ended up with a stuck shed. It's completely our fault that we didn't notice, and I'm confident that once we get over this, it won't happen again. We tried the warm water in a tub method, and it worked wonders: we were able to get rid of the stuck shed up to his neck. However, the shed on his neck and head just doesn't want to let go, and he still seems a bit too twitchy for us to just go straight at his head without any knowledge...does anyone have any suggestions for how to help with the stuck shed? Any help would be appreciated!

i heard u can also put a BP with stuck shed in a warm, damp pillow case. twitpst up the end, fold it over. as its trying to find a way out, it can wriggle free of any leftover shed.

Unless it is a lot I would just leave it be. With correct humidity the issue will correct itself.

For small spots like that another option is holding him and allowing him to crawl through a damp towel in your hands.

Tip: Damp moss in hides works wonders.

Okay, thank you! I'll try that. I think it is quite a lot--the leftover shed is about 10cm long, so I'm a bit hesitant to just leave it be. As for the pillowcase, I'll try that as well, thanks. If nothing works, I'll probably end up buying sphagnum moss, though I hope it'll be okay.

Just leave it. The shed will come off on the next shedding cycle. There is no need to worry.

I had an issue with shedding one time with my girl, got off as much as I could with soaking and the damp washcloth method, then let it be until next shed. Made sure it would all come off in one piece and walla, she's all good now.
