    Meet Popeye

    Hi all,
So, as some of you may know, here in Australia, we are not allowed any animals from outside our country. So basically, carpet pythons are to use as ball pythons are to the UK and US. So I'd like you all to meet Popeye. He is now 9 months old (though the pics are quite old, I'll post more recent ones soon), and is 50% Jungle, 35% Coastal and 15% Murray Darling. He is one of the sweetest snakes you will meet.

So without further ado, say hello to Popeye.

EDIT--Can someone tell me how to post pics directly from my desktop? My computer won't let me. Sorry if I sound noobish here!

I hope you get the photo posting figured out, I'm looking forward to seeing Popeye.

    Good looking Carpet!

While I was looking at the photos I trying to fiqure out what was. I saw Jungle markings and Coastal, then had to go back and read your post from this morning, yup, mix!

I'm not familiar with Murry Darling. I'll have to look it up.

    Harpo,

I think I remember your name from the Aussie Pythons board.

Don't be too upset about not being able to own "exotics" there. From my experience, the Aussie snakes are some of the most active, least shy and most social of all the large constrictors. Carpets are perfect, Olives are incredible and Scrubs as well.

You have the python area covered.

I think the only negative would be missing out on the South and Central American boa constrictors.

I think your scrubs and olives fill the retic gap very well and from what I hear, olives will eat ANYTHING so they could fill the king snake gap too LOL.

Your snake is beautiful too. I have a very similar looking girl.

Reinz, how thick is your largest coastal? And I guess how long and what age?

Yes, I am on Aussie Pythons. Are you?

I'm not too upset, as I know I'll probably never get around to keeping even half of aussie snake species! I would love a boa and a corn, but I'm perfectly content with the snakes we are allowed here in Aus. Olives basically do eat anything, but are perfectly tame out in the open, and often used in shows. My local pet store carries frozen chickens for them!

Thank you, I will post more recent pics as soon as I can figure out who to get my phone to take them.
    Kind regards,
    Herpo

Yeah, I'm on Aussie Pythons now and then. I used to be on a bit more before the big crash. I loved the long picture threads (Show off Ya coastals, jungles, intergrades) but those seem to be gone now.

I still pop over now and then.

Welcome aboard here, I look forward to seeing your pictures.
