Mites, agression, 2 snakes, HELP
So I have a 6 year old albino ball(male), and a 3 year old redtail boa (female). I bought some eco earth brick and and put it in a bucket, I use repti bark for both but needed added humidity so got the eco earth the slightly add to the substrate to add extra humidity. OF COURSE shortly after I noticed a few mites on cornflake. Got some olive oil and gave him a warm water olive oil bath and killed what was alive. I went to check on our redtail assuming she also had a few mites, she had waaayyyy more mites than the few the bp had and I could see eggs everywhere. Instantly I bought her a new Viv, chucked the old one, and gave her an olive oil bath. I know the olive oil won't kill the eggs but will atleast drown the mites. Will be getting some mite off from pet supplies when I go pick up their dinner in a day or two to speed up the process and kill eggs. My redtail is also showing agression toward us since she has gotten mites (only had her maybe 2 months) maybe 5 or 6 handling sessions in this time period to let adjust to new home) she showed her teeth to my wife when I opened her glass door and S'd up at her and we had to coax her back in her hide and the rest of the day everytime we walked by the tank she started to open her mouth and stare at us. Is this bc of the mites she has never acted like that. What I'm asking is do yall think this process is going the way it should? Is the agression from the mites? And is there anything else you guess would suggest? If you don't like something I'm doing please politely tell me and recommend something else, thank you I appreciate your help and your hospitality.

A couple months back I picked up a 2014 mojave female from a source I will never deal with again. I had multiple problems with the deal one of which was mites. Her attitude was really bad. So bad I named her B*tch. At any rate, rid-o-mite took care of the problem. Once the mites were gone, no more attitude. Maybe just a coincidence, but I know if I was being nibbled on all the time my attitude would not be that good.

I'm hoping the mites are leading to the attitude problem. Before hand she pretended I didn't exist when handling her. Now it's like she watches me constantly like she feels susceptible to predators and is on edge.

I would bet dollars to donuts that the mites came with the redtail given the timeline, two months is about perfect for a few mites arriving with a critter to expand into a full-blown infestation.
This is a cheap and effective way to eradiate the mites:

Also, you need to establish good quarantine procedures for future acquisitions. Basically you treat everything that comes in as if it has mites, until proven otherwise.
