    Baby vs adult

ok, debating between getting a baby Python Firefly or an Adult Albino.

bought this baby spider for my daughter .

SO I am thinking of breeding her when she is ready , being new I have no idea how pricing goes or breeding :p I can get either one for about 120.
IIRC it takes the males a bit longer to mature as opposed to females, sorry I am a noob here so input would be appreciated.

It's really about what you like best. Seems like all your options are pretty good! I bought all except two of my BPs as babies and really enjoy them while they are young. I still love my adult BPs, however, it is a fun part of the experience to watch them grow from little worms into big snakes over several years.

As to your last question, it takes females a bit longer to be ready for breeding than males. Typically the recommendation for a female is to have made it past her third winter and weigh at least 1500 grams. My adult BP is right at 3 years old and exactly 1500 grams, so she is pretty much ready for her first breeding. Males can sometimes be good to go within a year. I have a 1 year old male BP who is already almost 900 grams and ready to mate.

P.S. I like the firefly! That would be my choice.

    Re: Baby vs adult

Hi. I believe both to be very nice animals. As far what to breed, I like to use this genetic calculator to see what i would get out of the pairing.

    http://www.worldofballpythons.com/wizard/

This helps me to determine what animal i want to buy depending on the project. As far as the adult vs baby that is personal preference. Adult you know is eating and is established so that is pretty easy. Also he\she will most likely be breeding size or close to it. A baby I think will take a bit more effort in the beginning but by the time he\she is an adult you will understand him\her intimately and therefore know how best to care for him\her.

Also it is the opposite for growth in Bp's it takes the females longer to mature than the males. The gist I have is females take around 2 years with constant feeding and, she has to be a good feeder, but many will need a third year to get up to size. The general rule i have seen is about 1500g. The males can be ready in about a year only needing to be around 750g. I have heard of males and females both being bred smaller but also read that this is more stressful on both of the sexes. My 2 cents

lol looks like someone beat me to it

    12.5% Pastel
    12.5% Bumble Bee
    12.5% Firefly

I would go with the firefly also out of the two if your planning on breeding to the spider.

This did not come out right. I think you may have left firefly in on one parent and changed the wrong one over to albino. Spider x Albino should be

    50% Het Albino
    50% Spider Het Albino
1.0 Josiah - Super Pastel het SK Axanthic
0.1 Abigail - Spider het SK Axanthic
1.0 Moqui - Pug - Rescued from a Meth lab
1.0 Winston - Min-Pin, Chihuahua, Dachshund mix, rescue
1.0 Buddha - Gray Tabby - baby of a neighborhood stray we took in
1.0 Precious(like the ring) - Siamese - Sister to above
