Defecating too often?

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question. I have a male BP (adult) who seems to be defecating small amounts every 5 days or so. I have never seen this behavior in one of my BPs and just wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on it. This has not been going on that long...he has pooped/peed 3-4 times in two/two and half weeks about. The poop is broken up for the most part, in small bits. Does this guy just have the runs?

Temps are good, humidity is good, behavior is normal other than what i mentioned above. Thanks in advance for any responses.

They go when they need to go. That said, if your snake has the runs rather than well-formed solids that can be a sign of parasites, so having a fecal test done may be a good idea.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking the poops are not that big (they are mostly solid, just small) because he’s going frequently? I’m not too worried because everything else seems to be fine. Just seemed strange to me because no ball ive ever owned has defecated so frequently.

I have some animals like that and it is annoying!! I clean one day and the next whats that smell? It doesn't help that my fiance has the nose of a blood hound lol. She smells it before we walk into the house some how. They all seem fine and just like stated before, they go when they want.

how do they do it?!? mine is the same way, its crazy. Ill clean everything before she gets home, feel a sense of pride that the room does not smell, she walks in and crushes me with "snake rooms looks good, but smells horrible." Its like what?!

Digestive irregularities happen to us as well. Nothing to worry about unless it is to the extreme and on either end of the scale.

its tough sometimes but on the other side of the coin....when i tell ppl "ya i keep 25+ snakes" their first question is almost always "what?? how does your wife feel about that??" i always get to tell them that she supports me in whatever i'm doing, even if its crazy snake stuff haha. I can put up with a little of because i know she supports me and my hobbies.
