Long BP how will she grow?

I have a Sugar BP that is very long. She doesn't really have much girth on her and because of this, those her age can eat small rats but she is on pup rats because she is slim. But she is super long compared to others her age. (In my collection). Pretty much all of my snakes that are the same age are very close to the same size (weight, girth, length). Where most of my BPs her age are around 18-24in, this ball python is 30in. You would really have to see it to really get the full picture. I did post a picture but I really do not think this will help you guys.

Here is the sugar I am talking about. It is pretty hard to tell. She was born in August 2014. I am more worried about how she will grow. I figured as I fed she would start growing in girth but she hasn't in the year I have had her. She is healthy though. Would you guys know if she would be able to breed when she is this skinny, and will she grow to be a super long BP?

Do you have a weight on her? That's a better way to keep track of growth than length. If she's heavy enough but not enough girth to take a small rat, you could try multiple prey items that would equal the weight to see if that'll put some girth on her.

She is roughly 796g and eats 2 pup rats weekly. She is about a quarter too small for small rats if that gives you a picture of just how slim she is.

I would weigh the pups to get an idea of how much she's actually eating in grams. If you're using the 10-15% of weight rule she could eat about 80-120g of food. Could be that she just happens to be a slimmer snake. Every animal is different especially when it comes to growth rates, but as long as she feels firm and eats well and gains weight instead of losing it she's probably okay. That in mind there should be people with more experience that should be chiming in here soon.

Are you sure you're not looking at the rat as if it's standing fully upright on it's hind legs or something? I feel like with most of my snakes the prey looks too big if it's live and standing up, but the f/t ones that have the back legs out are narrower.

have u tried feeding her small rats or weanlings? snakes are stretchy and it's amazing what they can swallow or fit into their bodies.

i have a few BP's that reached 200grams last month and are now taking rat weanlings. i was like now, they can't eat that. i tried it and bam! i got a few happy BP's with a nice lump in their bellies.

maybe your girl just needs bigger prey to start filling out her curves. but to be honest, i don't see anything wrong in that pix. she doesn't look long or skinny, just a normal healthy looking BP. maybe u need to take a pix of her stretched out fully or next to another one of your BP's.
    RIP Mamba

At almost 800g, she easily will eat a small rat (if not two).I think you're not giving your BP enough credit in regards to what kind of prey she can handle.

Okay guys, I appreciate you trying to help but I also did not start keeping snakes yesterday. In my original post I am saying she is super slim and very long. Girls her age are around 1200g and are easily taking small rats, and can soon take mediums but I don't want to over feed either. The sugar could actually take a weaned rat but they don't sell them here. The pups do fine. Even the 1200g females were fed this way until they were able to take smalls.

All my snakes ate today but I will try to get a photo comparing her to the other ones her age and I will also try to get a photo of her with a small rat to show you guys what I am talking about. All I want to know is if anyone had experience with this type of growth and if she would get girth on her.

No need to get offended. People are offering advice based on information that has been provided.

I don't think that a 800g BP can get plump with a two rat pups as her meal.

Not offended at all... like I said, I appreciate your help, but I know my snake, that's all. I have a piebald that is a month older then the sugar. She too was fed on 2 pup rats until she was able to take smalls. She is now 1343g. I have a Queenbee who was also fed 2 pup rats before taking smalls and born in June 2014 that is 1298g. Both these females always looked to the perfect girth though. I have a normal who was born September 2014. She is a live eater and takes to live adult mice per feeding. Like I said live rats are illegal here. She is 1119g. My sugar's exact weight, born August 2014, is 796g... kind of guessed too high but now I am looking at the records. But this weight was taken November 23 but that was over two weeks ago so who know how much she has gained since, still not big enough for smalls. The problem isn't what she weighs though. She is just very slim and long is the point I am trying to get across. And I am wondering if she will stay slim and long or if someone who has had a snake like this knows if she will start growing normally at some point.
