Where to buy BP in PA ?
My children really want Ball Python for Christmas. I would like to purchase one locally. Can you guys reccomend me a reptile store or a reputable breeder in Philadelphia Area. I have petsmart and Petco in the area, but I was hoping for some place that actually specialize in reptiles and have nice selection with healthy speciments .
Thanks,
Jay

I know Steve Markowitz (Serpent's Den) is in PA and has nice critters. Not sure if he's local to Philly though.
There's also several Pennsylvania-specific reptile classified forums on Facebook that you can search for. You can score some decent used equipment there too.

Lair of Dragons is in Lancaster. Not sure if that's too far from you?

Re: Where to buy BP in PA ?
I'm in Philly! Only have a couple mojaves left though, not the selection you are hoping for. There are a few decent breeders in the area, but the vast majority of us are doing it out of our homes, so you wouldn't be able to browse like you could with a pet store. That said, the prices are waaay better when you buy from a breeder.
If your kids don't mind waiting and you have some room in your budget (in case they fall in love with something "fancy"), you could give them the set up at Christmas and pick out a BP together at the next reptile expo in Oaks - I think there's one in January. If you go that route, I recommend Steve Hartman, Outback Reptiles, and Neil McCrum. I've gotten BPs from all of them and had a great experience each time.
The best places I've found for reptile accoutrements (near Roxborough) are World Wide Pets on Ridge Ave., and Natural Pet (formerly known as Captain Nemo's, and has recently been acquired by Pets Plus) on Dekalb Pike. Haven't been to Natural Pet in a while though, so I'm not sure if their selection has changed.
If you need any local BP help, feel free to PM me!

Also you have the Hamburgh, Penna reptile expo that has quite a few big time breeders in attendance. Lots of quality morphs there to choose from.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

I hate to say this but Natural Pet has gone down hill, I stopped going there altogether.Last time I was there they had a bunch of dehydrated baby BPs and were being kept in one dirty enclosure with one heat spot where they all were trying to warm up. The worst was seeing a juvie Savannah monitor in a small 10 gallon tank barely able to turn around.I was so upset they lost my business with my salt water tank, I prefer to drive an hour to That pet place for Salt water fish needs instead of buying anything from them.
I would suggest going to the King of Prussia petco if you want to browse and hold a few BP morphs.I was pleasantly surprised when I went to buy some crickets to hold me off until the Oaks show. Turns out the manager is a big BP guy and brings in very nice morphs. Last I was there they had some Bananas, Ivories, Lemonblast, Pinstripe, Spinners, normals and bumble bees.

That's such a bummer! I thought that place was so cool back when I first visited. I'm glad you told me, because I was actually thinking of going back. I'll just stick to ordering stuff online.
I did hear about the KOP store having a puma in stock a few months ago, but I never looked into it. Now that I'm thinking about it, I moved to PA for College, and in my freshman year I bought a leopard gecko from that store. She was bright yellow as an adult, and lived to be ten. So I guess I can recommend them for having decent animals as of a decade ago, haha.

Re: Where to buy BP in PA ?
Guys, thank you so much for replying to me.
It would be nice to go to the Expo, but my kids are little and still believe in Santa ( at least I hope 5 and 9 years old still do ) , so it's got to be there Christmas morning.
I was actually able to find more or less decent store in the area "Feathers, Paws and Claws" in Harleysville, PA . They had few baby BP's , but I was hoping for something better.
Chkaddi, where are you located in Philly ? I'm in Horsham, PA near Willow Grove.
I would be interested in pictures, if you can post some.
Thanks

Re: Where to buy BP in PA ?
If you go to quakertown farmers market Fins, Feathers, Paws, and Claws has another shop in there, usually has a couple ball pythons. Last I was in they had an albino and a pastel. OH and a spider that I almost picked up.
