    First shed

Hi all, I'm about a week and a half into my BP's first shed, I've done a fair bit of research on it and have kept the humidity around 70%, but over the last few days she's been shedding off a few very small pieces. It mostly appears to have come off her head and the first half inch or so of her neck, and the rest of the skin has yet to shed. Is this normal? Her eyes have returned to their normal colour, and she's been coming out of her hide again (usually very active, but was not seen at all for about a week) and ate last night no problem at all.. Should I expect the remainder of the skin to come off in one piece shortly, or should I be concerned?

    Thanks in advance

It probably will not, do not soak your snake it is stressful and unecessary, simply get a damp towel and let your snake slither through it and repeat as needed.

If you haven't had her very long she may be having a bad shed due to previous conditions. People soaking and giving their snakes a bath for shedding purposes make me cringe. It washes away the snake's natural oils and can cause more problems. Make sure you're providing proper husbandry and future sheds should be easier.

When I have snakes with a bad shed I like to wet down a snake bag and tie them up inside for a few hours. They usually come out pretty clean.
