    Possible digestion problem

I have this snake that was a rescue fro.a few months ago...came to me with a burn on her belly..... which healed nicely.... I have 4 other snakes...her humidity and heat is proper. She is the smallest of all y snakes and honestly has not gained and kept hardly any weight since I have had her.She has always given me issues taking food whether it be live or f/t however the last 3 times she has eaten on day 4 after eating she regurges. I do t have any idea why...I have been making g a point to not disturb her at all the last 2 times once I saw a pattern and still she is.regurging on day 4. Any ideas what the problem could be?? Her weight is only 118 grams she was 100 when I got her so as you can see next to no gain

Thanks for any help you can give

I know with my problem-child Kingsnake I have to wait a minimum of ten days, preferably two weeks, after a regurgitation before I feed her again. Not sure if you're doing that, or not, but they need time to regrow gut flora, to my understanding, before they can be fed again. If she hasn't digested her meal by day 4, she may not have enough gut juice to digest it properly. My kingsnake female has been diagnosed as having a defect in her digestion - she's a year old, and only 31g. The male I got at the same time is the same age, and 110g. Also, apparently once some snakes start regurgitating, they might keep doing it. My girl will go for six to ten meals, seem to be fine, eat voraciously and poop regularly, but she doesn't put on any weight and she'll spontaneously regurgitate again after two months of eating fine.

Prior to those regurgitations she was having issue feeding, that means no food which means no weight gain or very little depending on the food intake. What size prey were you feeding before the regurgitation issue?

I am curious when you had the first regurgitation did you leave at least 2 weeks with no food before the next feeding? If you did not this could explain why she keeps doing it.

Finally also keep in mind that failing to gain weight when fed adequately (proper size and frequency) and regurgitation could be a sign of internal parasites so you might want to get a fecal done.

    Re: Possible digestion problem

OK I am going to try waiting two weeks....although I think I came pretty close to that this last time...was at least 10 days... but just for the sake of being sure....in the meantime I will get her I for a fecal just in case it could be a parasite

There are also reptile probiotics that I've heard of, but I've read some very conflicting reviews of them, which is why I haven't used them myself.
