Talking Ball Python "Seeing" Me For First Time Freaks Out

My ball python i've had for easily a month. Funny thing though due to when i got him he was blue eyed. Also when i got him he retained his shed. This lead to my snake learning to "trust" me without ever once seeing me. Two days ago i checked his cage and noticed his retained eye caps were blue. Today i checked his cage for poop (It's been about a week sense last poop) and all his shed was gone! I immediately held a personal party in my head due to the delight of seeing his shining patterns for the first time. I had to go to work so i didn't handle him. After i got home i cleaned his smelly skin and when i went to handle him he was a ton more skittish! It seems he never thought of me as a real animal and when he saw that i was a creature was like "WTF u ain't a branch" and became 5x more head shy (Head can't be 6 inches near a moving hand). He's still puppy dog tame but it's both our first times seeing each others pupils and i don't know if he's freaked out or not because he's still fine with handling. Though i forgot to mention he had some butthole skin still left near his "gate" and on his tail. When i got a luke warm moist rag and helped take it off he immediately spewed some liquid pee? or poop? and a bit of what can only be a piece of dried urate or poop; was that a defense response because i was hurting him or was that the classic "Oh i've shed... RELEASE THE KRAKEN!". Haha funny that i've owned him for awhile and he gained his trust but he's now cautious like when i first got him because he isn't blind. Totally forgot though i put him back in his cage to go blast his bowels but sense some of the skin was still on his "Gate" he was rubbing his "Gate" on the cage like he were a Golden Retriever who had worms

TLDR: Got a Ball Python about month ago, it wasn't able to see the day i got it, and up until now. Ball python adjusted to me while it was blind but now is cautious because he can see and realize i'm a gigantic animal.

That's hilarious! You'll soon earn that trust back though. He may also just be head shy because he's still extra sensitive with the newly uncovered skin.
