I guess I should officially introduce myself...

I am sorry for never officially introducing myself or my son. I sort of jumped right in head first and started swimming. To say this has been a whirlwind experience is an understatement. We went from my son wanting a BP as a pet for his 16th birthday to now owning 2 and looking to get more in the near future. All in a matter of a couple months.

Anyways, we live in Bakersfield, CA. Not quite the armpit of California, but pretty close. My name is Bryan and my wife Karina hates snakes, but she said my new BP is cute so that's progress! I have two kids, Jared (16) and Lauren (13). Jared has a GHI Mojave coming today and has decided to name her Kitty. I guess it is an inside joke between him and his friends, but hey its his snake and he can name it what he wants. I have a Leopard Jigsaw boy that is a little feisty, but I dig him, and as soon as I have the caging set up, I'll be getting a Phantom yellowbelly girl. My daughter is so-so when it comes to snakes. She is a little timid around them, but doesn't hate them. She really wants an American Eskimo dog, but my wife is allergic to shedding dogs. So Lauren said that if I get her a snake instead, it has to be white, a female, and she is going to name her Klondike, so I guess that will be BP#4 at some point next year. We also have a labradoodle named Liberty (born 7/4) but we call her Libby. She is the most chill dog I have ever owned. I work in the oil and gas industry as a gas measurement/automation specialist, but my real passion is BBQ. I am co-owner of a BBQ Catering company called Fat Daddies BBQ and Catering. We are small but prefer that. We see it more as a hobby that pays a little on the side, but possibly someday will turn it into a full time gig.

Well, that's pretty much us in a nutshell. My son doesn't have an account on here but I know he lurks. I was trying to keep the delivery date of his BP a secret, but a he saw that I posted it on here. Damn kids and their sleuthing skills!

Here is the wife and kids in Times Square for Christmas last year....

Here is all of us at Rockefeller

And here is Libby...in her winter coat. Summertime and we shave her down.
