When you send the clueless on reptile errands...

I have two funny stories so far. Asked my fiance to pick up four small live mice from the pet store. He comes back with two adults and two fuzzies. I was like . He thought my reaction meant they were too big. He was like that was the smallest they had! I fed the two babies off to my smallest bp lol.

The other day I asked my fiance to take out two small fuzzy rats to thaw. I came home and he had four medium sized adult rats in the fridge. I was like who is going to eat those??? That's twice as wide as even the biggest snake.

Haha I couldn't imagine what would happen if I had to ask my husband to help with the snakes. My squadron had to leave for a training mission around the time my first clutch was supposed to be laid so I instructed him on how to pull the eggs. He got lucky that she held em in until I got back because I'm pretty sure he would have had a heart attack pulling that hissing girl out

If you continue to enlist the help of the uneducated, you may try writing on the rodent bags who they are for as well as what they are.
This will ensure far less frustration for him as well as you.

You shouldn't have to do this for many times, for visual learning speeds up the process for most folks.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

I have a chart on the side of the freezer and label the bags as to what size they contain for my own sanity!

I use color coding !! Plus I write the contents and the date to be fed on it, so my petsitter knows who gets what on what days.

I have so many rats in the freezer right now I'd probably be better off writing what they are as opposed to who they're for lol. But I gave such specific instructions! Lol "Can you thaw two of the small fuzzy rats. Should have black and whites in the bag." And he pulls out not two, but four white medium sized rats. There's only one bag with black and whites. He blamed it on being half asleep lol.

A chart is a good idea also. I have one of those dry erase boards I could use to write when I need to thaw, I always forget lol.
