Sperm plugs
Just a quick one i cant find the answer to. Do males need to have sperm plugs present to be ready to breed?

I got 3 males 700g, 500g and 400g iv tried to put to my 2kg spider who i believe to be ready due to cool seeker and bowl wrapping behavior that's she has been doing for few weeks now. All 3 have spent time with her mostly the largest one and she has shown zero interested in any of them. Could it be that none of them are ready?
Do i just keep introducing them and wait and hope? Is there anything i can do to get em going? lol

Despite the numerous times it is claimed, ball pythons do not produce sperm plugs. For starters sperm plugs are placed in the female to prevent other males from knocking her up. Obviously ball pythons do not do this. What people refer to as sperm plugs are just shed of the man parts and some other bodily stuff with no baby making potential. Therefore they are not really indicators of male being ready or not. However we know there are 300 gram males that have successfully made babies, so obviously they do get baby making potential very quickly. I have also talked to a few breeders who say they pop their males and remove this shed before breeding and feel they have a better season because of it.
Sometimes it takes unproven breeders time to figure out whats going on, wait til you see one your male trying to do things to the wrong end of the female. Also if the female isn't interested it isn't happening. A few weeks is hardly any time to worry. Keep putting males in and let them figure things out.

Thanks alot for the info, i'm so worried about my female reabsorbing her follicles before I can get one my males to lock lol. Does that even happen? I pinned my hopes on having a go at breeding this year and I think i'm worrying about nothing at the moment, guess i'm looking for reassurance.

Oh wow ok haha, just one more thing this female is for the first time since i owned her gone off feed missed 3 feeds now and tonight i offered her live which she also didn't want. Can this be breeding related I read males commonly go off but i thought females should feed well during building?
