    a lesson in here somewhere...

    VE Electronics thermometer/hygros came today.

First, I thought I'd just rubber cement them on to the glass. They are light weight, and the cement can be scraped off easily for cleaning/battery replacement. Turns out, my jar of rubber cement has cemented itself. I did manage to free the brush, but there is nothing in there that is usable. No problem. I am a crafty person, and have sew-in Velcro that can be super glued where needed. Except, not even pliers would open the super-glue tube. Well, there is always E6000 cement for the Velcro. I use it for beading projects. Used to make jewelry. Came out in a slow rubbery blob. Dug deep in there with a skewer - still mostly rubber. It sort of works. The strips are stuck - no idea what the holding power of it in that condition is, but the way the tank is arranged, the thermometer won't hurt the snake if it falls off, and it is set very low anyway.

You know that feeling when you keep reaching for pens in a drawer, and none of them work?

You and I have the same luck, if you can call it that.
I am to the point that I buy the smallest "whatever" glue when I need it and throw it out when I am done because it wont be usable next time.
