Hiya. I've been lurking here for a few months trying to learn what I can about BPs and oohing and aahing at all the beautiful pictures people post.

I have never had a snake before but always liked them, the most I've really gotten to interact with them was on a school field trip when I was younger and we were able to hold or pet them.
I also like to watch them for a while any time I'm in a pet store. Unfortunately my parents hate them.

I was hoping to win my father over by holding one at the store so he could see they aren't sneaky, slithery, slimey mean things like he thinks.
They said we couldn't though unless we planned on purchasing since it will stress them out. I understand that but I was still disappointed.

Even so I still would like to keep learning and planning. I looked at the stickies for the 20 long glass tank and the PVC cage and put together a list to get the pricing.
I'd like to post a thread on that to make sure it has all of the essentials and the correct sizing (like the UTH, hides, and water bowl compared to the tank size) which is why I'm posting an intro thread now.

Other than that though I'm currently in school for medical billing & coding and I have a dog, 3 cats, and 7 fish tanks.
I spend most of my time doing my school stuff, playing video games/watching anime, cleaning the fish tanks and watching things on twitch.

Welcome! Maybe you can go to a reptile expo with your parents. There will often be some good snakes there for them to hold for the first time as well as deals for your first snake if they are interested.

Welcome! I hope you can try and change their minds, parent's are difficult haha. My mom haaaates snakes, so they stay at my boyfriend's house. We are moving out soon and I don't think she will visit our house while the snakes are there lol
