New BP Owner - He's soaking a lot?

    Hi all,
I just adopted my new friend (Burrito) about a month ago. He's eating successfully but I've noticed he's started soaking in his water dish A LOT in the last week. I've checked him for mites several times, as that is what other posts suggest... and his humidity seems fine too! I use a humidifier set up to a humidity gauge so it really never drops below 50% humidity and is normally closer to 60%... Is it possible he just really likes soaking? Or is this a possible indicator he's about to go into shed? Should I be at all concerned?
    Many thanks!

He could be too warm…ball pythons aren't really big on soaking. What are your temps at?

    Soaking can be due to

    Shed

    Mites

    Temps too high

    Humidity too low

    Recent large meal

Lack of security, hides not being secure enough leading to your snake to use his water dish for security

Yes you should be concern if it persists as BP rarely soak.
