    Hotbox incubators?

Anyone use them? If not what are some reliable quality incubators you trust with high end clutches?

    Re: Hotbox incubators?

There are a few commercially made incubator out there and Hot box is one of the best o his Chris customer service.

    Other brands are

    Nature Spirit Incubators
    Boamasters
    Animal Plastics

I liked the hotbox incubator I received. It had no problem keeping a steady temperature, but the fan seemed too strong, and it tended to dry out the eggs a lot. I only had one clutch of eggs, so that may make a difference. I had to add water to the substrate several times, but I would still buy that brand again if given the choice.

I love mine! Chris is a great guy, the incubator is quality, and I didn't have any problems with maintaining temperature or humidity, though I used the substrateless incubation method.

Not sure a fan can be to strong. They are meant to move around air within the incubator, but not within the tubs. My guess is you need a tighter seal on your egg boxes. not sure what your using for boxes, but I've found the best way is to put a piece of glass over top instead of the lid. It creates a nice tight seal and every couple days i just flip the glass. Also it won't sag and cause condensation drips like press n seal.

I use breathable tubs with no issue. Incorporated a better latches when I first got the largest one,an Chris purchased a bunch of those latches after I let him know.

I think that's what I'm going to end up with. Seems like the Hotbox is a solid incubator.
