Held one for the first time today.

Title says it all. We were in the pet store for some live pinkies.
One of the Bp's was out - the guy asked if I wanted to hold it.

    Of course!

Good looking normal "with etchi" (spell?). Probably not full grown, but a good size.
Very mellow and easy going. Very relaxing to hold!

Even BF thought it was a beautiful animal (even though he kept calling it a boa).

Enchi is probably what they said. Congrats on getting to hold your first BP!

Fun! Enchi's a nice morph. Thinking about expanding your collection?

I'm ALWAYS thinking about expanding the "collection"! Every day I run into something that is new and amazing.

I've wanted a Bp since I started researching snakes. The biggest problem has been ensuring a back up food supply, in case the BP is only a live feeder, or at some point decides to become only a live feeder. I live in NM, in a very small town. The closest pet store is half an hour away. They are very small - we call ahead to "reserve" our pinkies for the two hatchling king snakes. Because of poor eye sight, I rarely drive - and BF teaches out of town for a week at a time.

With those constraints, I've always thought the prudent thing to do was have a rodent colony set up beforehand. Not a big deal - I'm already raising meat rabbits, chickens, and milking goats (have been for years) - but I haven't pulled that part together yet.

That is awesome that you were able to finally hold a BP.

    There are so special.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

That's what got me! I went into a pet stop to buy my dog a new leash. A NEW LEASH! I saw a cute little piebald. The owner of the store brought it out so I could hold him and I was in love. Left the store and of course... I was back a few days later for the Ball.
