    Unhappy Need help (advice)

Hey everyone, my male spider just had his first shed and it was an incomplete one that was taking forever so i gave him a hot bath and got majority off. That was 2 days ago and he's still got a small patch on his head and covering one eye. I tried again bathing him and wiping gently toward the tail to help him get it off. It doesn't seem like it wants to come off. This whole process is taking forever, because ive read its about 1-2 wk preshed stage (which he already went through) now an incomplete shed that wont end. Ive read all the stickies seen a million videos and tried every one but the last piece on his head/one eye wont come off and I don't wanna stress him too much so I just put him back in his terrarium. How long should i wait before trying again, its been like this for days and its stressing me out but I don't wanna stress him either. Will he get it off himself? Should i just leave him alone? I dont wanna hurt him or scratch his eye or something but i dont want it to hurt him either cause im reading the eye caps can hold bacteria. Dont know what to do, anyone please lemme know, need knowledge from experienced owners/breeders. Thx

If you havent tried the pillow case method I would try that tomorrow. ..basically you get about half inch of water in the tub putbthe snake in a pillow case and put in the tub.it will get wet and him moving around inside will usually work it of..usually about 15 -20 minutes is all thats needed

A little bit of stuck shed or even one eye cap is not the end of the world. As long as there is no ring of stuck shed on the snake and it's tail tip is clean, simply keep the humidity up and the snake can deal with it himself over the next few days.

In the meantime you need to fix your husbandry - if the snake is too dry then it will have problems shedding. Coming into winter this is doubly important as heated air in our homes is usually very dry compared to in the summer; I know the humidity drops to under 10% in my house, which causes me problems, never mind my snakes...

    Talking Re: Need help (advice)

I had the humidity between 65-75 even up to 80 for a time or two but it still happened that way. I'm trying to be as precise as I can for him cause I really want nothing but the best for him, I've researched as much as possible read all the stickies so as not to be annoying with obvious questions and he stilk had an incomplete shed, thats why I asked but thabks for all the help. I finally got it off today with the soak in warm water and a little rub with a wet towel! So excited lol, my wife thinks I'm nuts but I love the little guy lol, thanks for all the help, I love ball-pythons.net!
