Butter morph

Alright guys,.im sure you people are tired of every single one of my threads being about butters...but i have a question.

I researched butters and lessers after you guys told me they used to be different but after so much cross breeding they're practically the same thing, and just got on the horn with my breeder.

I know this makes no difference to anyone, but he's the person in charge of all the exotic animals on the set of Walking Dead (being filmed down the street from my house) but i'd say he's worth his salt when it comes to animals.

Now, from what i read,.Lessers and Butters used to be two separate morphs that looked similar. Butters were the more expensive morph so people would either cross breed them because they couldn't find a matching pair, or just lie and say their lessers as butters.

Now i did call and ask him about this and he confirmed what i read for the most part,.but confirmed that my snake is 100% Butter because he was never interested in 'taking the cheep way out' as he put it.

Now,.with all of that said (i don't mean to offend anyone with lessers, i actually adore them because i personally think they are more of a khaki instead of yellow, kind of like a bamboo).

I've seen a lot of banana lessers or lesser bananas but never any Pandoras (Butter x Banana). Is this because its just cheaper to do banana lessers and they look similar?

I don't really see any Butter morph anywhere. Are they just about gone because of all the cross breeding? Is all that is left just lessers or lesser X butter???

I'm looking for people opinions on this weird phenomenon.

It's all about what you prefer. To me butters have always had a bit more contrast between light and dark, which I didn't really care for. I always went with the differences as a distinction between lines. To call lessers the "cheap way out" though, just no. This little lady certainly wasn't cheap, and is an excellent example of what the lesser gene can do when combined with enchi.

Can't really say why you see more lesser than you do butter. Probably just based on what people like and are breeding.

This is a Lesser. It is het for Hypo but nothing else visual but Lesser. I think this is a pretty fine example of the gene. The first picture is not mine. It was provided to me by the Breeder when I was inquiring about the purchase. The second pic is one I took with a cell phone and she has a little more size on her.

What I had gathered from reading different threads around the 'nets was that lesser and butter are the same. They were just proven out by two different people so they ended up with two different names. People keep the different names to try to show which line it originated from or as you were told, they interchange the names. As for one being cheaper, aren't they both about the same price? I think they are both beautiful!
