My wife is taking care of a Corn for... ?

And we don't know anything about him. Pretty cool guy, anyone know what he is? About how old?

He was HUNGRY and looked a little dehydrated Cage is what he came in. I have my balls in cocohusk, but want to keep him in the substrate he is use to. Does that look like Aspen?

Corn snakes are just like BPs when it comes to the whole estimated age thing. You never truly know unless yo have his precise birthday in front of you. And if I were to take a guess he is a ghost corn snake, but I only have an anery A corn snake, (used to have a butter motley years ago) so I am not an expert on corns at all. And as for bedding, he is on Aspen by the looks of it and I would keep him on it. Corn snakes do not need to have high humidity. Coconut husk is fine once it dries out but I personally find aspen to be the best.

Based on how crisp his coloring is, and how very much yellow he appears to have, I'm actually leaning towards an ultramel anery. Can you get a photo of his face?

All true. The only thing I would add if you are keeping him long term UV would help him grow and shed better.
