    Squeaking?

I don't see any signs of respiratory infection in my ball python and he's alert and eating like a champ, so I'm pretty sure he's healthy. But last night he was sitting near my ear and i heard him squeaking... I checked his nasal cavities and there's nothing there.
I dont know if this has been happening all along and I never noticed maybe? Usually when im handling him there's something playing on the television so there's a good chance I just never heard him do it?
    helpp!?

    Re: Squeaking?

You heard him do this several times? In my limited experience with RI's I have found that wheezing or 'squeaking' can happen before you see any mucus/bubbles. its probably nothing but I would recommend letting him exercise for 15-20 min (do what you normally do, no need to turn the t.v off) then before you put him back make things completely quiet for 5 min and observe him, put him close to your ear again. The exercise will be good for him anyway if it is the early stages of RI but all that moving around will also encourage the 'squeaking' to happen again if it’s going to. Nothing to really worry about yet but keep an eye on him and see if any other signs of illness or RI show themselves.

    Re: Squeaking?

My black pastel has been with me for about six months now. I've never heard her squeak...I’ve also never heard her hiss either (she is the silent type hah). maybe someone with more experience with black pastels will comment but I don’t think the speaking is related to your boy's genetics.
