    Moving

I'm moving to Vancouver (Canada) from St. Joe, MO. Driving all the way, leaving in a couple hours. My critter is a 14 year old 5 ft female normal. Will hand warmers be okay for heat for the hot side of plastic tub or just use seat warmer for heat?

I personally would not use hand warmers as they get way too hot. When moving snakes I bag them up and carry them in an insulated picnic cooler. Usually this is enough, but if it's particularly cold out I use heat packs designed for shipping animals or a hot water bottle (not too hot) wrapped in a towel.

    Re: Moving

I decided to tear apart old enclosure for uth and thermostat. Rigged up a power converter and using bigger plastic tub. Placed bedding, hide and water dish in it for the trip. Gotta go.

Sounds like a plan. Just make certain the probe can't get jostled out of position during transit as that could cause major problems. Best of luck on your move and let us know how it goes.

Officers in Iowa freak out when you say you got a snake, giant dogs and guns when asked if any weapons in vehicle. Lol. But the tub and everything is duct taped, strapped down and seat belted in. Nothing moving for sure.

I would not have told the cop about the snake unless he was looking at it.

If you're moving from the US to Canada is there an export permit required for ball pythons?

They are cities appendix II animals and they should have cities paperwork. Why would you get questioned by cops in Iowa? Did you run into that pesky Minnesota/Iowa border patrol?

    Re: Moving

Never looked into permits. So I haven't a clue. Got stopped cause van sits too high.
