Dimmers on ceramic bulbs?

Hey y'all,
Just a quick question getting ready for a couple of snakes coming in and I was wondering if light dimmers work on ceramic bulbs? I've scoured the Internet and have only find a couple answers that both say differently. Any answers would be appreciated thanks
