I have to leave town for a few days (4 days). and i dont know what to do with my bp. i dont know anyone around here so i cant have someone look in on him. and i must take this trip. It is a 5 hour ride one way to where i am going and i think it would be too stressful for him to spend 10 hrs in a car in 4 days time. just looking for advice on what others have done in the past. or if it would be ok to leave him unattended for a few days if i add an extra water bowl or something? help.

well, i may be a bad mommy :ashamed but i don't see any problem with leaving my girl alone for a few days as long as she has adequate water and she's fed before i leave. my problem is that i change her light at night so i have to find someone to change the bulb or just leave one in, but if you don't do that then i wouldn't worry. make sure that if your heat source gets too hot it won't burn your bp though since you won't be there to monitor it.

I left all my snakes for a week, they were perfectly fine, the water bowls were a little low and there were a few "presents" waiting for me but other than that everything was fine.

Just make sure you have books or some sort of locks on your cage for peace of mind.

Have fun on your trip and try not to worry

I travel alot, and when nobody can check on Eleanor she's usually fine... I just put a plastic cover over her rubbermaid water bowl (plastic lid with hole cut in it) and it keeps the water level from dropping. Plus she seems to like to soak in there around shed time, so everybody wins, lol
