Hi everyone.
You seem to be a serious bunch, so I ask u lot this:
I just got my ballpython 3 weeks ago and have fed him 3 times since.
My question might seem a bit strange but how often does he poop? As far as I can tell he hasn´t done that yet. Is it normal for a snake to " hold himselfe " for longer periods?
Temp. is between 25- 32 degrees celcius, humidity is 50-60%.
Any suggestions?
Thanx

First of all, Welcome to our site! We're glad to have ya around .
Its quite normal for a snake to go a while without pooping. From my experience it takes anywhere from between 4-6 feedings before i see any poop, however every bp is different. If you are concerned about constipation, you might try to soak him in some tepid water. Remember tho, if the water seems warm to you it will be too hot for him.

Welcome!
Sophie poops weekly whereas Smitty poops every so often. So as Carson said, every bp is different. Tepid water has worked for me before, however, they weren't soaking b/c of consitpation, the poop was just one of the results of soaking. I'm sure you've got nothing to worry about.

Thanks, the temps sound good. Maybe try and bump it up to 35*C on the warm side. (that would be 95*f...right?) But they are good.

Please clarify your temps. Are you saying the ambient temp of your whole enclosure for your bp fluctuates between 25-32 degrees celcuis? Or are you saying your cool side is 25 and hot side is 32?
IMO no matter the case, I think 25 celcius is a bit on the cool side. I keep my cool side for my bp's fluctating between 26-28, and every once in awhile it gets to 29 for short periods of time. My hot side runs 32-33 and occassionally for short periods of time 34. Those temps seem to work well for my bp's and they seem to like it.
As far as them defacating, mine have gone easily 3 weeks and longer in between. If you are that worried about that with your snake, maybe soak him/her in warm water, but remember not too deep.
